Exhausts

Hi Chaps,

I'm new on here. I recently bought an S4 after having had my Allroad for 11 years (felt a bit guilty trading it in!). It had been great but it was time for a change. I found one locally with a really nice spec and am getting on great with it. I'm considering a remap but also wouldn't mind looking at exhaust options as well. I don't want something that's constantly hideously noisey and sounds like I've just stuck a baked bean can on the back but would like a bit more theater when I put my foot down. Anyone got any experience?

Cheers,

Andrew.

FON, Welcome to the forum. The search feature is your friend ;)

Definitely get a remap, those V6's are nuts :D

End part of video is very impressive with a list of tuning items.

Funnily enough - it was that vid that pushed me over to the S4. I drove a couple of RS4's and have to admit to being pretty underwhelmed given the price difference to the S4.

Hi there,

With regards to the exhaust I installed the Milltek resonated ceramic black quads last year but found it to be a little bit on the quiet side for my liking. I changed the rear section for the ceramic black oval Milltek Non-resonated and it is much more to my liking. I have a 6MT and experience a little bit of drone between 2500-3000 rpm (and more so on steep inclines)... But under WOT it is sweet music to my ears.

Have a look at the following for a great comparison of the exhausts : http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthrea ... ht=exhaust (sorry mods if that's not allowed).

Although in stock form the car is no slouch (360 bhp in stock with V-Power), I have to agree that tuning is the way to go. I have the APR Stage 2+ kit along with the exhaust system and it makes the car much more enjoyable and how it should have come from the factory. I think that all the major tuners MRC, APR and Revo will be just as good as each other.

Fantastic - thanks for the links. Just the sort of thing I was after.

I'm pretty keen to find something with tailpipes pretty similar to stock, just with a bit more noise at the right times. I'm looking at getting a remap at the same time.
