TechNick's widebody S4
This one is likely to be a labour of love for an extended period of time, but I've put off starting this thread for long enough...
After 2 months of ownership, I'm now on the brink of making progress on some of the tweaks I have planned to make the car my own.
However, it only seems right to first backfill on some of the details from the original project that the previous owner undertook to get it where it is today.
As ever, pictures will say it better than I ever can...

Re: Nick's widebody S4
Anyone wondering what it'd look like with a RS4 nosecone?
Nick, what width wheel/tyre/offset can this badboy hold now with the WB in place?

No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Nick's widebody S4
Yeah, and rear bumper too.bam_bam wrote:Anyone wondering what it'd look like with a RS4 nosecone?
Re: Nick's widebody S4
Nope, not wondering that, loving that rear-end.

Re: Nick's widebody S4
Yes it has a nice rear end already but the RS4 bumper is also very nice.
Re: Nick's widebody S4
From the front... probably a bit like an RS4bam_bam wrote:Anyone wondering what it'd look like with a RS4 nosecone?
Would need a bit of adapting to blend in with the arches, no doubt, but would certainly make it more aggressive looking.
If going down that route, then I guess FL headlights would also be on the cards (and maybe FL rear light clusters too).
Well... at the moment it's running standard wheels/tyres but with 50mm spacers on each corner.bam_bam wrote:Nick, what width wheel/tyre/offset can this badboy hold now with the WB in place?
The standard wheels are 19 x 8.5 ET43, and it's got PZero 255/35's fitted (which don't really have much by way of rim protection).
The RS5 rotors I've just acquired are 20 x 9 ET26, and have 265/30's fitted (again, PZeros).
Original plan was to get 255/30 Assym 2 F1s (as they are a decent tyre and the rim protection not only provides a bit of... well... rim protection, but also fattens them out into the arches a bit.
Net result - hoping to reduce the spacers down to maybe 20mm (by my calculations).
Current thinking is to test fit the rotors and see whether 20/22/25mm spacers will work best.
Would love to get some none too fussy (OEM-looking and OEM-quality) concave wheels on there that have the right girth/offset to loose the spacers completely, but haven't been able to find any that I like - hence the current rotors route...
What's your thinking, Luke?

Re: Nick's widebody S4
TSW - Mirabeau Matt Blacks in 19x10.5 or 20x10 25ET.
Loads of concavity, cheap and not played out.
Tyre choice wouldn't be bad, the GY F1 275x30r19s are a great tyre and easy to come by. 265+x30/35r20s are harder to come by but you've got less demands on weight/speed ratings for your car than I've been looking at.

Re: Nick's widebody S4
Don't focus on the retarded car, just think about the stance and wheel design, these wheels suit a round arch B8, ne?
Screw OEM, it's common and your car ain't common.

Re: Nick's widebody S4
Yeah, that could work! Although, maybe the 10.5 in the 20s, so as not to need spacers(?)
Guess they'd look a bit like this:
...scrub that, you've since posted better images! Am liking that last picture in particular (what with the concavity).
Not a brand I'd heard of before, but the "Koko Kuture Sardinia-5 in Matte Black" in this pic doesn't look too bad either:

Re: Nick's widebody S4
They're nice but the windows are huge, your brakes will be very exposed.
No matter where you go, there you are.

S4 brakes are tiny
