Blackberry and Phonebook

Post by liffy99 » Sat Feb 15, 2014 2:12 pm

Having trouble understanding pairing of my two mobiles to MMI 2g High.
I've paired both my Apple IPhone 4 (personal) and Blackberry Curve (work) to the car. Both are identified as Bluetooth devices and I can connect to both. I've imported the contacts from the Iphone into the Directory. But cannot do the same for the Blackberry - the option is just greyed out. Similarly I cannot access the phone book on the Blackberry when it is connected - all the options are still greyed out except Directory.
When connected, the Blackberry tells me that SAP is running but the ONLY option I have on the 'phone then is to disconnect !

I also thought I could create Profiles )in this case a work one and a personal one) but cannot see the option anywhere - is it possible on 2G ? Didn't help having an MMI 3g manual for a 2g car !
That probably explains why I can only have 160 Directory entries and not the thousands I thought . . .

Help appreciated

As far as I can tell it lets you create multiple identities (e.g. one for work, one for friends, one for family etc) so that you aren't wading through unnecessary hundreds of contact details. But I'm not sure its available on MMI 2G - I certainly haven't seen the option in the MMI menus although it is described in the MMI 3G user guide. Curiously I have a car registered in April 2009, but an MMI handbook published in Aug 2009 (which I think refers to 3G although it doesn't mention that anywhere).

Cool, I'll take a look as I have a 2013 S4.
