New S4 order
New S4 order
Morning everyone. I am currently looking at ordering a new S4 avant. I previously had a TTS then a B7 RS4 but went to the dark side and bought a C63.
Anyways I am looking for a bit of help on the must have options when ordering a new S4.
Audi Drive Select
Damper Control
Convenience Package
Adaptive Headlights
Technology Pack
Storage Package
Super Sports Seats
these are what I am thinking but could anyone say yes/no to these.
Are the sports seats as good as the ones that were in my old RS4
Thanks in advance
James

Re: New S4 order
The rear diff is a must as is tech pack high IMO.
Re: New S4 order
Compared to the sports seats on the B7 (not bucket) the B8 SS have the adjustable squab, but the side bolsters are not as big, making it easier to get in and out of. Also, the headrest is integrated into the backrest meaning no adjustment, but it it's plenty big enough to accommodate drivers of varied heights.
Overall they are not as firm as the B7 sports seats, but still supremely comfortable & supportive; not to mention they look great too. Tick the box!
As above, sports diff is a must have too in my view,

Re: New S4 order
Personally I found the sports seat to be over priced. The list price of the seats does not include must have additions taking the price up to nearly £2000.
Also consider the S4 Black Edition as this version comes with some great options as standard and only a few bucks to upgrade certain options.
I will say that the sports diff is definitely a must choose option as is the drive select and its options.

Re: New S4 order
From a new owner, my thoughts are:
Audi Drive Select - must have.
Damper Control - must have, the ability to mix dampers on comfort with the other settings on dynamic make the car.
Convenience Package - don't have it. Don't miss it.
Adaptive Headlights - not a must have.
Technology Pack - must have.
Storage Package - just another potential source of rattles. Boot suffices for me!
Super Sports Seats - must have.
An epic car.

Does the RS4 automatically come with the sports diff or is it an option on that model too ?

Re: New S4 order
I thought it rather interesting that there doesn't seem to be any discount on the S4 yet they'll start at 7k on the RS4. Save a few grand in options included on the RS4 and factor in the residuals, I found the same - not anything in it. May as well get the RS4.
Unfortunately it was all still more than i am looking to spend, whereas BMW will give 20% off a 335d touring with better finance so I'm going to give that a go (still have my RS2 and still Audi at heart - this is for the Mrs and family outings). Really I was hoping to get the S4 for 335d money but no ball with Audi. However with a build date slipping from March to June I'm not as convinced as I was...

I just specked a 46k or so s4 with car wow and most dealers offered me about 38k, 2k or so of finance contib and the rest dealer. Not rs4 level but there are discounts. Re: New S4 order
Will do - thanks. It seems harder work with Audi, but if I could get a decent spec S4 to sub 40k it would put it on par with the 335d. I got >9k discount on a 49k spec, an S4 to compete with it came in at 47k but i was quoted 44k after discount with similar balloon making it a good 125/mo more on finance.S4WON wrote: I just specked a 46k or so s4 with car wow and most dealers offered me about 38k, 2k or so of finance contib and the rest dealer.
