New S4 owner

Well, not a new S4, but an S4 new to me at any rate.
Just put the deposit down on an early 2009 car - Sports diff, ADS, super sports seats, sunroof, DAB radio, B&O, DVD sat nav and MMI (presume its 2G), tyre pressure sensors, folding mirrors, 19s, storage pack and I expect I'll discover a few other bits and pieces. I'll need to retrofit AMI (know anyone in the South West that does it outside of Audi ?).

Been murder trying to get some of the history from Audi though. Despite them being able to tell me when it's been serviced that's about it. Audi UK confirmed the sat nav and sports diff, whilst a local Audi garage said it didn't have them (well I could certainly see the nav unit in the boot and the diff setting option was on the ADS).

But whilst trying to find all this out I found it had major heart surgery a couple of years ago to the tune of over £7k (cracked cylinder was the 'fault'). But will Audi tell me what was done - no. They can't because of the Data Protection Act :bash: Now I've heard it all - surprised it wasn't a 'health and safety' issue. I'm supposing it's had a new short block at least or would over £7k (warranty fix so I don't know if that figure includes labour) cover a whole engine ?

I'm trying Audi, Germany for help but won't hold my breath. Never had this trouble with BMW about details of the car's service history.

Anyway, should be picking it up at the weekend and say a fond farewell to the BMW 130i (great engine, really nice feel to driving it, but looks horrible).

Hi liffy99 & welcome to the world of the brilliant S4.

What a great spec!! I have a December 2009 car but not with as good a spec. Still love it though.

Have you any plans for your car?

Welcome to you too !
Not picked the car up yet but first tasks;

Retrofit AMI and a USB hard disk to get my music in
Drive a couple of months
Consider a remap - but what level ? Not looking for ultimate power but our old remapped TT was so nice with the added midrange torque.

Can't believe the insurance - two quotes around the £300 mark, inc business use, protected no claims and remap !
That's less than my standard BMW 130i (which is now to be sold). Then again I'm an older git living in the sticks.

How about you, any mods planned ?
