Car park ding to beat them all

Post by pmj » Mon Jan 27, 2014 12:37 am

I went shopping yesterday and instead of taking the wifes Focus I thought it would be nice to take the S4, How wrong was I, I parked miles away from the Shop, making sure that all was safe and there was no way I was going to get the side of the car bumped, we went it the Shop and came back out about 30 mins later, only to find one of the biggest trollies you have ever seen embedded in my front wing, to the point the wing is bent that I had trouble opening the driver door, after a little fettling I managed to get the door open and drove home in silence, I am so pissed off that people just don't think when in a car park with trollies on wheels and they cant be arsed to put them in the trolley park properly.... now I need to try and see how this can be fixed and how much its now going to cost me... turned out it could be an expensive shopping trip..

Enough damage to warrant an 800GBP repair bill

Bad news buddy. Hardly likely that a free=wheeling trolley could cause such an impact? Some thug probably ran at full speed with it? Lets hope their own engine bay broke into flame on their journey home, or otherwise I hope they lost their bus pass and had to walk in the rain :FIREdevil:
I dented a van once when reversing wearing wet sandals when I was a young lad. I knocked on house doors until I found the owner, I paid full cash for the body repairs/paint and kept my integrity as a result.

Have you tried sourcing camera footage from the supermarket?

Seems a bit steep to repair and paint wing!

Even if its needs a new wing would have thought £500 topps

Hello James,... long long time ... hows tricks...

The trollies at Costco are made a girder iron...

Tried to footage bit, but the store management have refused all responsibility, I tried the negligence bit, telling them it was their fault that the trollies were not collected... but still they declined to pay for the damage.... insurance assessor has authorised the repair... the cost as always is in the labour to take all the bumper, bonnet, door and wing off... the new wing is only £170, and painting is only £200...

so that little shopping trip cost me more at Costco than I spent in the store... barstewards... :x

Unlucky pal,

Could be worse - it coulda been a skyline and it would probably have needed a new bottom end from the trauma of it all !!
