Milltek Valvesonic exhaust

Post by jaygemson » Sun Jan 05, 2014 10:00 pm

Anyone heard about this?

http://www.millteksport.com/images/press/39.pdf

Seems its been in development for quite some time, but word on the grapevine is that it'll be launched this month (Jan '14). My car came with a resonated Milltek which is pretty tame but I understand the non-res system drones on the motorway in 7th gear which would be a no-go so this new system would be spot on.

I have an APR RSC catback and it is perfect IMHO. Strongly suggest you check one out before going down the valves Millys route....

I bet the APR RSC costs an arm and leg though?

No idea on price. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't knocking on for £2500 though.

This one? http://www.goapr.co.uk/products/apr_exh ... 0tfsi.html. I read your thread and it does sound pretty much spot-on, cheers.

I paid about £2k fitted for mine, VAT incl. Tuningwerks in Croydon did the fit and they were very good indeed. But considering the quality, fit, sound, performance and looks, I simply cannot fault APR - money well spent. Tap the end pipes with a spanner and they make a genuinely musical note - like organ pipes. That's how they get to sound so good I guess....

The std miltek non res is LOUD!! especially on WOT but i love mine. On a run it's not what I'd call a drone, but you hear it. I would not change mine. Maybe the auto gearing ratio is slightly different at motorway speed than in the manual so hence not having a 'drone' in mine.

Sneak preview of the Valvesonic on an S5 here. Assuming valves are open as it's pretty damn loud!
