Noob Saying Hello

Post by WhiteKnight » Mon Nov 04, 2013 1:35 pm

Hello all, thought I'd say a quick hi and introduce myself and to seek a little advise from you experienced S4 owners.
Just about to secure an order on a S4 black edition and from my initial search around the forum I believe there is a few must have options. .ie sports diff, damper control which both require the Audi drive assist. Is there any other key add ons I should have to make this an even better driving machine ?

P.s the Google satnav option looks the dogs but I cant stretch to that.

Thanks in advance for your advice and comments.

Jase.

Google sat nav is pretty good however I only used it a few times to be honest.

Get B&O, 19s, advanced key, tech pack, diff, dampers, super sports seats, I also like reversing camera, folding mirrors, hill hold amongst other things.

Thanks for that.
I think the BE comes with the B&O system and thankfully and 19's. The sports seats look superb but are £1400 ;)
What is the benefit of the special key ?

Has the S4 been a good purchase for you ?

Erm . . . I'm not the best person to ask in relation to the S4.

Advanced key is nice as you don't have keys dangling and jingling around when driving. You can leave them in your pocket when driving and when opening and closing the door. Not essential but a nice to have.

Just searched YouTube, the advanced key is a nifty piece of kit and c/w a starter button . How do you rate the B&O system as Audi's earlier Bose offering was quite poor ?

I think the B&O is class. Has it on my S4 and 5 and now on the RS. Wouldn't be without it.

Looking forward to getting my order placed in a couple of days. Did myself some homework online and sorted a discount of 7k off the list price, handy bargaining power for negotiations with my local dealer. Glad I expanded my search as originally I nearly put a deposit down on a new TTS. So hope the S4 proves to be the right decision long term. One big surprise was the road tax on the S4, it's the same as the TTS. Not bad for a 333 bhp V6.

Agreed, first sampled it on a 2012 A4 loaner when mine was in for service, had remembered to take a CD with me, the B&O blew me away!

Great spec, i bet you cant wait. If you can, add the storage pack as the standard storage is very poor.

Didn't notice the lack of storage areas if I'm honest..what do you get in the pack over standard ?

Yeah I can't wait to give it a good workout, haven't drove the sports diff and active dampers version but been advised it's a must for full on driving fun. Hope they prove money well spent.

Super sports seats would've been nice, but £1400 and then the compulsory rear through load option at £150 or so and full leather needs heating at £390 or so, price keeps growing :audibash:
The top spec nav setup and phone prep high will keep me busy I'm sure. Will have to do some searching about it's full functions.

It is expensive but it may help residuals and make it easier to sell.

I recently experienced the diff in the RS and it is pretty good, my S4 never had it. You need to be pushing on some to feel it though.
