I started the S4 this morning, it hesitated to start so it took two goes to get it going but when it did I got a message on the dash display saying " do not exceed engine speed of 4000 rpm " there were no other lights on the dash just this message. I called my local dealer who tells me that this is although not common is known on the S and RS models due to change of weather. Is this right. I turned the car off started it again and all was well Should I be concerned ?

it is common on newer audis - first check all codes - then if no codes and repeatadly comes on, vas5054 can sometimes clear it (VCDS doesnt) it will need a sw update in one of the cotnrollers.

I had a Vagcom on it. Only one fault listed. Cleared that one and will see if it comes on again.
