Revo engine map

Post by jrosey » Tue Sep 24, 2013 4:29 pm

Have part exchanged my 54 plate RS6 for a new S4 Avant Black edition & collect Thursday!

Booked in next week for Revo engine map as think will miss the torque of RS6 (It had stage 1 & Miltek) but has anyone here had it done?
Seen posts about Chris Harris link etc but can not seen anyone who has had it done (could of missed it)

I cannot remember seeing anyone post in here about that particular remap. Most, like myself have used mrc for mapping to grinning results.

Also not sure if the B8.5 map has been cracked yet. Also not seen anyone posting that either.

As far as I know I was one of the first with a B8.5 S4 Revo stage 1.

The map is loaded via the OBD port so no ECU surgery :) This is something I was adamant I wanted and only Revo could guraantee that they could do it.

APR advertise they can, but after several phone calls with their distributor they conceded it may have to be opened up.

MRC are also unable to map the B8.5 at the moment as they were my preferred choice simply due to the many recommendations on here.

Anyhow after having the map for a month now I am very happy with it. They reckon it increases the power to 411bhp and 375lb and this is noticeable low down in the gears where more torque is available, but get it past 3000rpm and bejeesus it flies.

D mode now pulls more than stock Sport mode.

I bought the SPS switch which allows the maps to be switched from 95 / 98 / stock.

i wouldn't hesitate to recommend Revo stage 1, it really does make a good car - great.

Ultimately I will go stage 2, but that may be a year away with a trip to MRC. Hopefully they will have it released by then :)

Pooch, I was also under the impression that, even with revo, the B8.5 ecu had to be removed and opened to map it. It even states this on their website so it's good to hear that this is not the case.
Could you let me know where you got the work done and for how much, feel free to pm me if you like.

The cost is £999 + VAT
Revo website has all the dealers who can do it for you.
Using TV Garage (01342 718565) and not used before but liked the fact that would not do it this Friday as only had 4 hr window and they wanted longer to ensure all was correct so booked for next Thursday (even have a loan car!)

I think it is same re-map as shown on the Chris Harris RS4 V S4 video (might be wrong)
Results sound worth it so thanks

Collected car and really worth it
As stated before D is like S as can feel available torque and in S or manual it makes big difference
Miss RS6 noise but not far off the pace
TV Garage was also great if anyone considering them
