Audi Media/Music Cable

Just got a set of cables from Audi to connect an iPhone or USB device. That's two months after collecting my car. I was told there were on back order.

I've heard that these are normally blue or red. The cable I have received are black. Are these the latest cables?

You need the cable with a red grommet to play video, the blue one is the old one IIRC.

Nope, it's an extra, must most dealers will lob it in.

I am not sure about this, if you have AMI, it is a requirement, so part of the price.

In any case, I'm not happy getting the old blue cable when I should have got the red one! grrrrr!

I just took the blue one back and the dealer swapped it for a red one, only problem is it doesn't work with my 32g classic iPod which I had planned to just leave in the car.

The dealer response is that the blue cable is the latest. The response I got back was via email was:

"I have checked the AMI cables and the blue cords are the very latest (even the new SQ5 just unveiled has them). They were the latest ordered from the factory so you dont need to worry about that."

Can someone confirm for definite before I go back to the dealer please?
