Thought it would useful for S4 owners to share experiences around reliability, or any other common niggling issues. Especially keen to hear from long standing owners who have had a few more miles under their belt. Warts and all :bigblink:

You will escape the major issue which was the pump going. Other than that I have had the fuel flap motor and the ignition switch both going. These are common across alot of the Audi models and I had the exact same issues in my S5.

Its been in once to do a full wheel alignment for a wobble (£220 - never again, lesson learned)

Nothing else in 2 years

They are coming to the end of their life, so the B8 is pretty well sorted regarding major faults.

I didn't realise the fuel flap had a motor. What's that used for? HD

Motor is probably the wrong term, it's part of the central locking system. Mine refused to lock and made a loud buzzing noise whenever you locked the car.

As I said common fault.

Ah right, it's the electrical switch to lock the fuel cap. So, and when is the next version of A4 expected? HD

My only niggle at the minute is the crap rear wiper, the blade cleared the screen really well for about a week but since then I'm not impressed. May try a new blade after the snow has gone.

By coincidence I was only talking about this earlier with my boss after following a new shape demo A3 into the office this morning - the first one I've seen on the roads itself in the UK. I parked next to it, naturally! He's debating cars but doesn't want to buy an A5 if a new model comes out soon after.

Audi would likely let the facelift run three years, I cannot imagine we'd see a new shape (A4) on sale in the UK before 2015, that would be a seven year cycle, the last three facelifted. Likewise I'd expect to see the A5 before the A4 again.
