Can someone explain the mechanics behind damper on the S4? Does it use air suspension or some other technique. I've heard its different to what is used on the A7 and A8.

I've read somewhere that the electrickery controls a valve on the shock, so it is different to the TT and R8 magnetic ride unfortunately.

My shocks do crash quite a bit on holes and ruts. :bash:

If its just a valve...£300 (ex. VAT) as an option sounds steep. :audibash: Is it any good?

Keen to hear experiences from existing owners and if its worth the bucks... :drink:

I have it and makes a nice difference when I have the wife in the car, on comfort, ride is very smooth. In dynamic, far more aggressive. I'm a fan.

It's worth the money especially as the comfort setting is softer than the standard S4 set up without ADS which is great on crap roads if you have a car riding on 19 inch wheels.

I guess it doesn't do any of the fancy stuff on the more expensive Audis like maintain the same ride height irrespective of car load or adapt individual shock firmness when turning in?

I have spec'd 19s so the earlier comment helps.
