Mileage from a full tank?

How many miles do you guys get out of a tank according to the DIS? I filled up today and the DIS says 285 miles which is pretty disappointing. This is using v-bastard.

Now the car hasn't covered many miles so it will loosen up a bit in time but 285 seems absurd.

Also worth noting the car is often used in city driving conditions.

I'd expect a lot more from the 3.0 TFSI as I get a range of 295 to 320 with my 4.2V8 :biggrin3:

I get about 280 in town at the moment and max 450 on the motorway at 70.

Wish I was getting 280. Currently only getting 250-260, but only had it a month or so and still enjoying it. I expect it'll get better when I calm down, or plod stops me.

There is a massive difference in range with this engine depending on the type of roads you're on, I know this is obvious but the gap between round the doors driving and fast "a" road and motorway driving is massive. I normally get about 280 miles from a tank of normal leaded but recently while using the car for journeys with more dual carriageways I've been getting nearly 350 miles.
I reckon over 400 is easily achievable when on a long motorway only run.

Also super unleaded appears to do nothing for this engine.

My DIS also says 285 when I fill up then depending on the journey I am making (linked directly to the average mpg) then the DIS will change accordingly. For me the engine is great when cruising and pretty bad on fuel when in town or pressing on. To be expected I suppose.

I can beat you on the long range but not this one. 190 is my best/worst.

This is interesting, a range of miles...

Hoping that it changes as the engine beds in but being based in a city isn't going to help.

On a different note I think the cruise control broke this afternoon. The set button feels like its stuck, doesn't click anymore and CC won't come on now. First trip to Audi coming up I think... :(

I tend to fill up when I have 35-40 miles left in the tank, round trip commute is 30miles mainly dual and I average about 25mpg and 280 miles to the tank before fill up (around 55l).

Since the remap no change in mpg but then I have been "enjoying" it :biggrin3:

I can never seem to get any more than 55 litres in so there must always be about 10 litres left in when I fill her up

I got 22mpg through south London today - not terrible compared to recent jaunts.

Is it essentially pointless in using v-bastard for an S4? Does it need a map to take advantage of it?

I'd say so if you're just trying to get more miles per tank, as for extra performance I couldn't say for sure but I didn't notice any difference when I carried out a not very scientific test.
