Hi all, Ive been searching for a used S4 Black edition saloon with ads, sports diff. ss seats and tech pack. No luck whatsoever, rare as hens teeth.
How much difference does the sports diff and ads make? Do I just buy a 2 year old manual without the extras and take it to MRC for fettling? I know Im being impatient but I really want a new car! Thanks.

That was the problem I had when looking, hardly anything is specced with drive select and the sports diff, but did manage to find one in the end.
There a couple of saloons on autotrader with the drive select package, but no black editions.

Kiteral, thanks for your reply. Have you driven a stock S4? Do you find drive select and sports diff makes a big difference to the driving experience?
Mojo, I dont know because I havent found one yet!
Im thinking of buying a stock car with tech package and uprated seats and letting MRC sort the suspension and remap. Im really looking for advice from the forum.

I ended up buying a new black edition as I just couldn't find a second hand one with the spec that I wanted, for me drive select and the diff were a must and they do enhance the handling of the car. Most used ones seem to have the sports seats and not the diff, I'd have the diff over the seats very day of the week but it's all down to personal preference.
Try one with and one without to give you an idea of the difference, I'll happily take you out in mine if you're in the Tyneside area!

I managed to find one eventually and drove a few during the search, both with and without the must-have ADS and Diff. Can confirm that it does make the car much more fun when you're in the mood. I also got sports heated seats, HDD, Phone High and even a towbar on my pre-registered car. Stick with the search, as something is bound to turn up.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Is drive select known by any other name? On audi approved website, there's not a single car with either ads or sports diff.
Just had a quote for a new black edition with all my options for 38k, auto e bid and drive the deal. Sorely tempted!

Mgoliveruk, Im really tempted to order new as well. The Ibis white black edition looks great. If nothing used turns up in the next few months I shall be ordering new.

Hi Pamplona, I have a company car coming early next year so will be looking to sell my 2011 S4 around that time. It's ibis, black edition, saloon, s-tronic. Doesn't have ads or sports diff but it has good options inc. 19s, Supersports, cruise, tech pack. it's not advertised yet but if you are interested PM me and I can send you more detail. Cheers, JP.

Thanks Nickyboy, really after a saloon. Had a test drive in a xfr today, stunning engine but running costs are huge!

Running costs much higher than an S4?
