Hi everyone,

Really happy today as I just placed an order for my S4. Just got to wait until March. That's going to be a long couple of months for me.

So, I wanted to ask you friendly folks for some general advice on what to check and look out for? I have three months to get myself primed for collection. Any advice/tips welcomed, assume zero knowledge as it's going to be my very first Audi.

It's an awesome car. What are you coming from? And what spec have you ordered

Currently got a MK5 Golf GTI which over the past three years has had a few tweaks. It's up for grabs if anyone is looking for one.

Spec wise the order is for the saloon with pretty much every option apart from active steering. I'm going for phantom black with red and black super sport seats.

Along with the general advice and tips I'd be keen to understand the servicing intervals, and what needs checking and when.

I think mine has an oil change at 9000 and an inspection service at 19000. This is what the display said anyway. Only done 7000 miles so far so can't add much else really.

3 months - I'm up to 18 months and still counting!

Hi and welcome its good to see another B8 S4 member ,whether Fixed interval or Longlife {you choose which suits your type of driving}the car will tell you when its needs servicing

I think the seats I have ordered are magma red, which is a darker shade than the pre 2012 models. The official Audi brochure which is available for download has a nice pic.

The photo is from my facelift 2012 black edition S4 avant with magma super sports seats! Don't panic they do look brighter in the photo.

Much nicer in the flesh than in photos that's for sure.

What engine oil does the car take? Plus does the sports differential need servicing?

2 months to go and counting....

Just added side assist, 4 year warranty, and storage pack. This means the only thing I've deliberately opted out of is dynamic steering.

Car still on track for delivery in March.... Oooh the wait

Price diff between 4 and 5 year warranty is???

Might as well go 5 or not at all IMO

Don't intend to keep the car for longer than 4yrs. I didn't check the price as a result
