Game changer?
Re: Game changer?
The only mod I would do without being worried about warranty etc is arches as the B7 arches look the tits.
Then maybe a remap!? If I grow a pair.

Re: Game changer?
RS 5 grill is a must do mod IMO
Re: Game changer?
I'd save the money and put hydraulic steering in.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Not a fan of the black edition grill?D_K wrote:RS 5 grill is a must do mod IMO
I assume it's a fairly easy task to change the grill?

Re: Game changer?
Has any one got a pic of B8 vs B8.5 S4 side by side to see the differences?
Also what exactly has been changed other than the steering wheel on the inside and mechanically?
Many thanks

Re: Game changer?
As far as I am concerned - s/wheel, headlights, stop/start, trick alternator control for regen-braking - and that's about it. Brochure shows about a 40kg reduction in weight, but that's probably due to base-spec optioning rather than anything else.hlbeckley wrote:Has any one got a pic of B8 vs B8.5 S4 side by side to see the differences?

Re: Game changer?
I think the exhausts look slightly bigger and seem to have a different finish and definitely sound better. Black edition grill may be a new thing? The rotor alloys as well I think, actually I think I've seen a couple of no Fl with these.

Re: Game changer?
Very good..... Here's the best I can do;
Rotors were indeed always an option on pre-FL and Black Optics also (I have both on my 2011 car).

Re: Game changer?
So most of what I said was wrong basically! Think I'm right on the exhaust (maybe)

Re: Game changer?
Reason I ask is that my B6 is long in the tooth and I have waited for a B8 RS4 to get a sense of price, number one, and then whether or not it is a game changer over the S4. I love my V8, the sound and torque, but to bring her power up to a decent level and update suspension, wheels and RNS-E plus steering wheel is expensive on these beasts, add exhasut, DPs and headers and we talking serious money.
I am not convinced thus far the extra outlay for the B8 RS will necessarily be worth it, but i do very much like the new RS.
DK's words ring true in regard to B7s RS4 dated interior, so this plays against an upgrade into B7 RS4 and as much as i love the V8 i often drive and drive in a mates RS4 and am just not as in love with it as much any more coupled with altitude of 1800m above sea level...S3s stage 1, and sometimes standard S3's, run me in all the time.
The B8 S4 has just never really done it for me in looks, compared to the old RS4, but dynamically and tuneablility it surely has to be up there is B5 S4???? and now more tuners are coming to market as here in South Africa (the ECU crack was still a work in progress)
Now Stasis have shown up on my shores and am thinking lightly used S4 at GBP40k (save GBP20k) off new list then spend USD8k and get this with 410bhp, great looking wheels. Obv wont do the Le Mans strips, but i like the blade in silver and i like the black stripe above it
