aka_dk - I agree re: B7 RS4 (remember me from Paramount dyno day in 2009?)

I am 6 months into B8 S4 ownership. It's perfect for 80% of the time (normal driving) but not so good for the other 20% (spirited), The RS4 is the polar opposite.

IIII MIIIIISSS IT!!!

(Also fuel consumption is WORSE than RS4)

RS4 - hard to drive smoothly, slowly - very easy to drive fast, amazing handling, buckets make you part of the car. Suspension gets better the faster you go.

S4 - fantastic for around town and motorway...just doesn't have the the "I am part of this car" when going quick, I feel detached. I have SportMaxx tyres which probably doesn't help and the suspension is the same when going slow as when going fast, just stiff and, well, clinical.

Don't get me wrong, the B8 is a great, great car but just a different proposition to the RS4 (obviously), It's just my opinion :)

My boss has an RS5 and thinks it's great........but he is a numpty :bigblink:

yes mate

Well, on Tuesday I pick up the S4, and will still have the RS 4 ... so can give a real life comparison

Im truely expecting the S4 go like <beep> off a shovel, be equally as "fast" as an RS 4 in the straights

but im also expecting it to feel totally bland in comparison on the twisties, also it will no doubt leave me totally cold in the looks dept

Still, not too shabby for a company car so cant complain
