What have you replaced oem with? :bigwave:
I got one of those Stasis exhaust from Revo Developments. Been a nightmare to fit.
Is that fitting it yourself?

Isn't it the centre resonator that's key to sound on the s4 as opposed to the rears though?

Having heard a few set-ups and personally tried the Stasis and Miltek (resonated and non-resonated which I now have), I highly recommend the Miltek non-resonated version. I have the black ovals and they look great.
It is a bit pricey but does give the best sound (in my opinion) from them all. I do get a little bit off drone when in a certain RPM range but nothing I cannot live with. The noise under WOT makes up for it.

It also added 12bhp when I had my car dynoed after the exhaust install and there were not fitment issues what-so-ever. And that was on a 6MT S4 without the sports diff.

I called Nige yesterday & they only do the backboxes for the s4.....they have a s4 going in next week & maybe they are looking at developing a power valve system for it..

Yes they do 'currently' do a back box solution hence this part of market research to garner peoples opinions on what they want
I have spoke to Nige a few times about this

Slightly larger than standard with black tips would be nice or RS4 esq black ovals would get my vote. Don't like a raspy sound, it sounds cheap IMO.

Hi mate,

I'd say that both systems sound similar to stock when driving normally. The non-resonated system definitely drones a little bit between 2500-2800 rpm in all gears. I found that changing down a gear cured the drone noise. So for example, cruising on the motorway at 70mph in 6th gear sits in the 'drone' range. If I was to shift down to 5th gear I'd be sitting at around 3000 rpm and the drone would almost be non-existent.
That was not present on the resonated system.
Going back to your original question. I did not find the resonated system worthwhile for my needs. I'd say that it was 10% louder (if that) compared to stock. It definitely added a little more noise and character to the car but I thought it would be much better.
Changing over to the non-resonated system was the best move I made. Again, under normal driving it was civilised and sounded a little bit louder than stock (say 5%). Open up the throttle and.. WOW. It was much louder and raspier than I'd imagine. The sound became even better after driving 1000 miles or so. I can get some lovely sounds now, especially when going through tunnels.
If you can live with a little bit of drone, I would recommend the non-resonated system.
All my observations are made in a 6MT, so bare that in mind. It may be different for an automatic car.

There are a few videos here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthrea ... -Fest-2010 that will give you a better indication to the sound.

Hope that helps a little.

Any system with drone present would be a let down for me personally, as it is possible to accoustically tune it out. :jump_clap:
If it drones on a manual - then it will be even worse on a DSG car :bash: .
Cheers
