Conti 3 tyres served me well. I almost left the car as thought I was stuck, some sketchy character came asking me questions about it which made me determined to get up the hill. Bloody did it
What was the advice?
Turn traction control off and give it more revs. Trouble is I ended up getting nervous about hitting someone and damaging the car. It didn't help that kids thought it would be funny to run out in front of the car.

I am a classic example of one of those people who didn't know what they were doing. Live and learn I suppose.

Had a look at the tyres today that came on my car - Pirelli Cinturato p7's. Was expecting Conti Sports aswell. TBH I quite like them, very quiet & comfortable. Not had much chance to push them hard due to the weather so can't comment on handling. Hopefully this weather will move on next week :)

Not sure if all Audi's are moving to Pirelli then. My car is a late 2012.

Last check Audi were using Pirelli, Continental, Michelin and Dunlop. Its completely random what the car comes with and - if ordering new - you have no say. There are no doubt a few exceptions - for example the RS3 only runs Conti I am told

Conti 3 tyres are bloody noisy though. The level of the tunes has been increasing every month.

Had a look at the specs if the Conti's v Pirelli's. 72db ont the Contis v 71 db on the Pirellis, so on paper not a lot in it. However having ran Conti's on two other cars previously I would say in real life the Pirellis seem a lot quieter & aborb the bumps a lot better.
