Not wanting to gatecrash your thread, but I get my new S4 on Friday and this has the electric, heated Supersports seats. Do they have memory settings as standard on these? if not how do you tell if they have been spec'd?

Hope you are enjoying your new car Rooney :)

Ok, will try that when the wife gets home with the 2nd key. Would of thought it should still set my position regardless of where the seat is ?

Its part of the convenience package which includes the following: -

Electric front seats with memory function on driver’s side, electric lumbar support for both front seats, and folding and auto-dimming door mirrors with memory function

Two different positions can be stored, adapting seat longitudinal position, seat height, seat inclinations and backrest angle as well as the exterior mirror settings. The positions are assigned to the corresponding car key, and the system automatically adopts the relevant settings when the car is unlocked via the remote control
Your benefits

The seat position can be conveniently, flexibly and precisely adjusted to the body
The driver and front passenger can adjust their seats optimally to suit their own needs

New owner - some simple questions

Have followed the instructions in the manual but still no joy (want to save my setting to the key). So, on the MMI under one of the menus (seat adjustment or something) I have set remote key thing to on. I then set the seat, mirrors etc to the position I want, press set and then I hold down the number 1 on the door until it bleeps. That all seems fine.

So I then put the seat back as far as it go so I can see if it works, get out of the car, lock it, unlock it and guess what - nothing happens. Shouldnt the seat move to my position when I unlock the car ? It moves if I hold down number 1 on the door but I would really like it to the key.

Anyone got any ideas ?
I may be wrong but the way I think of it, there are 4 memory presets. One for each key and the 2 buttons on the inside. The keys and buttons are not connected as far as I can tell.

My seat moves when I unlock the car if my wife was the last one to drive. I don't use the buttons really.

There are only 2 memories, each having its button on the inside of the door. Each key is linked to one of the mentioned memories. You have the option to have your car recognise your key when you open it (through MMI), adjusting the seat accordingly, or once yo u open the car you change the seat settings by choosing the prefered memory button.

I have keyless entry, and whenever I open the car after it has been driven by my wife, seats go back to my set position.

If my wife picks me up from work, where I would go into the drivers seat while the car ignition is on under her key, I use the memory button on door to set the seat.

All works fine with both keys. Was as explained above, one thing I didnt know was that you have to actually open the door for the seat to move (so you unlock with the key and as soon as you open the door things move automatically). Thanks for peoples help.

(for those picking their cars up today - enjoy !)
