Was enjoying the exhaust a bit too much and didn't spot a camera van till too late, so now will be watching the postbox for the next 17 days :bash: :ban:
Is it alot loader than the stock system?

What a bugger about the camrea, as above fingers crossed for you. :|

Yes it is quite a bit louder than the stock exhaust, I'm really hoping that once it's coked up (awe say 800-1000miles) it will settle down, but mine has a real loud bit when accelerating using mid throttle from 1900-2500rpm, then it sounds great !

I've contacted AWE to see if it's normal, will let you know what they say.

Contacted AWE and they said get resonated downpipes :bash:

The exhaust is not as refined as I hoped it would be unfortunately, I hope the down pipes work otherwise I'm not going to be happy.

Derbz be interested to hear what you think when you get it fitted.

Im in 2 minds about getting it fitted after reading this now tbh

I was under the impression the stock downpipes on manual cars worked fine!

I dont fancy having to fork out for the downpipes aswell otherwise i think i would of gone for the APR system instead. :?

I have read on the US forums that alot do say the same as what you have already said and thats that the system will calm down a fair bit with some miles on it.

How long will it take you to get 1k on it...

How much are the downpipes out of interest?

Derbz, I wouldn't worry too much, I have got quite sensitive hearing !

The down pipes are £570-£720 depending on whether Regal have a joint shipment coming from AWE, I got rid of my stock system when fitted, if you can keep hold of your stock system then go and fit it.

How much did you pay for the exhaust was it around £1600?

Thats one of the reasons i wanted to get it fitted local,so i can keep the old system.

My S4 is used by the missus to cart the kids around mostly so a loud system would piss her off tbh, she wasnt even fussed about me changing it, but told her it would'nt be too loud

I enjoy abit of noise when i take it out at the weekends though..

Will give it a bash now i have it and hope for the best!

It might be because I have a mrc stage one remap that it is noisy around 2000rpm.

Did the map make much difference to the exhaust note before the AWE was fitted aswell?

Thats my next plan stage 1 map :)

Short vid with mainly the drivers window open, shot on a gopro so the sound is not that great. Need to do some flyby video soon.

It isn't that loud when booting it, it's at low revs when it gets a bit boomy, I think because they use heimholtz resonators but a bit of insulation has been taped over the parcel shelf holes and that has calmed a lot of the boominess.

Was up shifting at 6000 ! As still waiting for the brown envelope...

Right I have now changed my mind about this exhaust...

I frickin' love it ! Does need the resonated downpipes as I leave the house at 3am sometimes but for those of you that don't...

It's got a lovely burble to it and when upshifting and coming off the throttle it sort of pops, bassy at low revs but screams when above 4000rpm and wot.

I followed some tips on audizine to calm the cabin boominess by taping a few layers of aluminised bubble wrap insulation (thermawrap) over the holes in the parcel shelf in the boot (I think this was causing extra resonance) and this helped alot.

It also is getting slightly less noisy now as it gets carboned up.
