95 or 98 fuel?
I usually run my petrol cars on Shell V Power, but I read somewhere that this Audi V6 is just as happy on 95. What are your thoughts?
Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
I've noticed no difference in performance between V-power and standard 95 Ron petrol and I also seem to remember reading that the S4 is mapped for 95 Ron.
If you remap then obiviously you can map it for super or normal.

See here about half way down for a mini discussion on fuel.

95 or 98 fuel?
I run mine on 95, didn't notice any difference on super - except for the cost!

Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
Thanks, looks like 95 is the way to go.
Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
Has anyone ran a B8 S4 with stage 2 MRC tune on 95 RON, if so what sort of figures did it achieve?
Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
Shell Optimax was launched claiming to be better for the engine as it had all these cleaning agents, now it's branded as V Power but the regular fuel seems to claim the cleaning agents too. If there's no difference then go with the cheapest!
I'm doing a compare at the moment, going to fill up 6 times with V Power, then reset the indicators and run 6 tanks on 95, see if there's a difference.

Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
I ran mine on 95 for the 2.5 years i had it and it never missed a beat.
Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
MRC have done a stage 2 car on 95 Ron. I don't recall the figures but they were very good. Down on what was possible with better fuel but still very impressive.

Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
I run mine on 95 and she has alway run like a dream.
Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
I (sadly!) log every drop of fuel used in my S4 on the most excellent RoadTrip iPhone app and can say that over 20,000 enthusiastic miles exclusively on V-Power (or on occasions the next available high octane alternative) I've averaged 25.2mpg, which I think might be slightly up on cars running normal 95. Maybe. I'm a fan so I'll stick with the 99 option thanks....
Re: 95 or 98 fuel?
Mine has been run on 95 for the 1.5 years I've had it and much to Doug's disgust when he replaced the APR stage 2 tune with his MRC rework, though it means my employer foots the fuel I cost rather than I, or at least 60% of it.
I can't find dyno chart at minute but recall it was 465 PS with Doug confident another 15 or so if higher octane was used.
On the road though I doubt you'd get to realise that extra?

Yours was the car I was thinking of. The plot was on the MRC facebook page at the time.spr0cket wrote:Mine has been run on 95 for the 1.5 years I've had it and much to Doug's disgust when he replaced the APR stage 2 tune with his MRC rework, though it means my employer foots the fuel I cost rather than I, or at least 60% of it.

I doubt you would notice the difference too and I think your reasons leave no questions.
