When you say 'turned up', is that because you are basically listening to the zorst through a tent? less insulation?

Latest update:

Bristol Audi have tried everything they can without success as it still squeals like a banshee. They are waiting on the factory for a solution. Therefore I still have the S5 cab for the foreseeable.

I have spoken with the dealer I bought it from and suggested if there is an S5 coupe available I may be open to a trade/swap.

So for now, still waiting for something to happen.

Sorry to hear its still going on, sounds like you've had enough of the car as i said before don't do anything in a hurry and to make the wrong decision that you might regret.

+1 Don't jump from the chip pan into the fire ;)

I think I would like to have my car back fixed than to start over again. If it can't be fixed they will make you an offer anyway.

I do really miss the car and I'd prefer it over this S5 cab but I just want my own car that I can take pride in etc.

Before I make a decision I need one from Audi one way or another. It's only been a week so its ok. At least I'm not putting miles on my car.

Update:

Their isn't a fix at the moment and there may not be for some time. Therefore I have said I want to get in another car which I can call my own. They immediately found me an S5 coupe but they would require a deposit and a higher monthly payment as it is quite well specced. The Mrs kicked right off so this is a no go for now (unless Audi UK help me out with a contribution).

So either this S5 somehow works out or they keep searching for another S5.

S4 Recall (potentially)

Post by spr0cket » Tue Mar 05, 2013 11:30 pm

Unbelievable that braking noise can be such a challenge... Disks with friction pads are hardly cutting edge :-)

I read a few similar tales from RS3 owners, change in pad compound hopefully going to solve for them.

I wonder if you tried some replacement pads (EBC or similar) whether it would make a difference, though you'd have the hassle of trying it, might sav the extra headache of having to swap cars... To who knows what new frustrations that might have in wait?

I had thought about going aftermarket but then we thought why should we, Audi should be able to sort it.

The whole S4 saga has grown really tiresome for me. Whilst it is a magnificent car I have just had enough of visiting the bloody dealers all the time. If I do get a different car I pray that is problem free.

Theres no guarantee that a new car will not have problems if a new S5 is not financially viable at the moment i would stay with the S5 cab loaner until they fix yours.

I hear what you're saying and if itsn't financially viable (or will at least stretch us that bit too far) it is a definate no go.

The S4 has just become like a problem child for us now.

I can only hope that something else won't have it's issues. I don't mind a couple but just ongoing issues is tiresome.
