S4 1 - 0 Pheasant!

Post by longdog » Fri Feb 22, 2013 5:24 pm

Driving home along the A66 today and a daft pheasant decided to try and cross the dual carriageway, why it decided to walk and not fly is a mystery but it ended its life as part of the front end of my car!
Just waiting for the estimate but a damaged inter cooler, damaged grill, parking sensor and number plate isn't going to be cheap, full marks to Audi Ensurance who had the car inspected within an hour of me phoning them.

Yes I know the rules but unfortunately I left the pheasant just west of scotch corner at the side of the road!

When I used to travel to work from Hull to Skegness, the lesser known back roads were my preferred route. There are some great stretches of road mixed in with some twisties. As you get near Skeggy the higher land is littered with Pheasants.

I remember a few years ago on a long stretch where you could get full speed, hitting one that ran across last minute. What a mess! It got buried deep into the bottom grille, and I had to literally put both feet against the front of the car and yank it out. yakk!!!
Lots of rubbish cars slowly progressing to a nice shiny S4
