£65k is a lot of dosh, certainly out of my reach.

I think I'll wait for it to be cracked, it's not as if it's a slow car.
Agree, you also don't get anywhere near the theoretical 35 mpg on a RS. :FIREdevil:

And you don't get anywhere near theoretical on an S either! Think my average thus far is something like 19mpg!

I'm on 22mpg average which, considering that most of my journeys are around town, is not too bad. With regards to the "should have got an RS" comment, I toyed with waiting for it to be released, and while I love the look and sound of the RS4 I'm going to say that for me the S4 is a better car and with a simple remap (back on thread) a faster one.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the S cars are better than RS cars but as a does it all package they are pretty much perfect.

I saw an RS4 yesterday whilst at the dealer for the 6th time in 8 months with issues with my S4 and with the 20" rotors it is awesome.

You're right though a remap and the S4 will be a serious machine.

Glad it's not just me that only manages 20 or so mpg on my S.

I know I could get more, just can't be arsed. I'd have bought a diesel if I wanted more :D
Lots of rubbish cars slowly progressing to a nice shiny S4

I would imagine the stop / start shutdown is a help, feels like it's practically dripping unburnt fuel in stop/ go traffic.

I had an oil burner prior, with twin turbos and 3 litres after a remap it was a blast but only in dry conditions.

Although I do miss the 500 mile tank ranges, the free revving and clatter free petrol return leaves me with very few regrets.

Filled up today from near empty. 75 notes. 250 mile range.

I've given up worrying about the fuel cost, I do few miles in it so its actually not too bad.
