Just took delivery

Post by RS4SRS » Sat Sep 15, 2012 8:36 am

So just got back from trip to Egypt for work, and to my pleasant surprise just as I was getting home... Audi were delivering my S4.

Looked fantastic, everytime I see it the blue grows on me! After now put 100 miles on it I am more than happy about the performance relative to the RS4.... I agree that based on everyday driving the S4 is quicker than the RS4, its only after maybe 6k revs that the RS4 would feel quicker. Handling is good but not quite as good as the RS....

The interior is a marvellous place to be and head & shoulders above the RS4!

Overall the is great and I'm glad I made the switch!

I'll post a few pics later.

Car came with the Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres.... whats everyone's opinions on these? How do they handle? In the dry, wet and winter.... If I am going to need winter tyres I'll be getting Vred's whilst they are not all sold out like last year....

Thanks

Yes, need some pics. Mine came with continentals and so far so good. Ordering a set of 18s next week to use over the winter so any views on which tyres to go for will be welcome.
Anyway, hope you enjoy your new ride, what spec did you go for ?

I've got these (in 19") on my B8 A4 Avant. In the snow and ice they were terrible. I think the rubber doesn't like the cold. It made for plenty of fun (the Front to Rear power distribution is much more fun than in my B6 S4) but the tyres behaved like you'd expect from all season wide performance tyres in the ice/snow.

I don't do enough miles a year to justify winter wheels/tyres but if I did then I'd be buying a set.

p.s. You know they're run flats don't you? Not sure why Audi give us a space saver that does 50miles at 50mph when the tyres fitted will do the same!
