Reputable tuner in the South?

Post by Joedesi » Wed Jun 27, 2012 6:51 pm

Have you guys had any experiences with various uk Audi tuners. I live in S.London and am willing to travel. Decided on milltek exhaust and still considering whether to go for revo flash or MTM piggyback.

The tuners ive spoken to are MRC Tuning, qst, unit 20.

Any experience with any of these ? Would you recommend them or any horror stories..

MRC. Their B8 S4 is doing tuned C6 RS6 times, and it isn't even finished yet!

Joedesi when you spoke to the tuners did you ask what the risks are in regards to what may not be covered by the Audi warranty if something goes wrong. I guess I'm thinking gearbox and supercharger. Just wonder if there is anything else that may be of concern.

On the video that Mrc s4 is really quick. I just wonder about relative reliability between the different tunes.

From my research the rate limiting step is the dsg box which is rated to about 410 lbs ft of torque. Thats why the biturbo tdi a6, s7, s8 dont use the dsg box. There are a few stories of engines going pop but these appear to be on standard maps.

There does not seem any consensus on warranties. That's why I'm considering the MTM piggyback so it can be taken off prior to going back to audi.

You will find the S7 uses a 7spd DSG
Same as the new S6 too

BiTDI's and S8 are using the new 8spd auto.

QST in Haywards Heath are excellent - I've used them for about 7 or 8 years without any issues whatsoever.
