Slow down to stop at lights,, wait for them to change and bam......100 before you know it. The B7 RS4 with the 8 speed RS5 box......ultimate drag racer!!

You are right aka re: handling...DRC was just a different class. Supple when slow and solid yet forgiving when having a blast.

I am toying with Milltek...but have 5 year warranty and don't want to affect that.

Glad the S4 forum has picked up.............. :jump_clap:
Milltek wont effect warranty at all .... get it done !!!

i can imagine with the s tronic its mental rapid ... I had S tronic on my S3 and it turns a fast car into a stupid fast car as it takes away the gear change time and makes a crap driver that bit better

ok, so first commute home today .... 31MPG !!! mental and thats with only a few hundred miles on the clock, it will get better once it beds in

the RS 4 gets 25-26mpg on the same run

It really is a great car (so far) and once the tuners crack the code and wind it up to 400bhp, it will be epic

but, the RS 4 wins in the following categories:

- body styling / looks
- wheels
- exhaust and engine sound
- seats
- handling
- kudos

Definitely for straight-line stuff but gotta say for the twisties I felt more in control more of the time in my manual B6 S4. The S-Tronic never fully anticipates your next move, eg even in Dynamic, into roundabouts when gunning it, it won't shift down to 2nd. I always end up using the paddles, then let the auto do its thing on the way out

yeah by S tronic I meant full use of paddles ... a crap driver wont get the gear changes right with a clutch

I was shocked

I wasnt intentionally driving like a granny

its a 50mile / 1 hr commute also, so not a fluke

TTS was getting 34mpg

S3 29 MPG

so a 3.0V6 333PS doing 31 with 400miles on the clock is impressive by far

That's mad mate. If I stick religiously to 70 w/cruise for 2 hours or so I can just about get 30mpg. What fuel you on? 95, 98?

VPower (99)

to be fair, I have 15 miles of 55mph roadworks on the M1

BUT, I got 30mpg bang on this morning on a 70miles commute from Lichfield to Milton Keynes, again, not intentional

and yesterday, Milton Keynes to Manchester (130miles) 28MPG

I know this car isnt about MPG, and I dont really care as I have a fuel card, BUT, doing 35k a year means if I can stretch out those fuel stops it some save me a pain in the arse !!

Making me think they've made some adjustments to the fuelling/engine (take it yours is 11 reg)...that or higher grade fuel really does make that much difference (I run 95)

yes mines an '11 ... I think 99 RON does make a difference ... give it a try for 5 tanks and see if the ECU adapts to it

You had that drag race yet against the RS? I would say there wouldn't be much in it up to about 80 but after that I would say the rs would leave the s4.

Having had an RS4 I'd guess the S4 would have the lead until approx. 70, then it seems to run out of puff....the RS4 would just keep going and going.....and going and going.

It must be broken

I got 34mpg this morning on my 50mile commute

Also additional spec iv discovered

Built in jukebox aka harddrive
Sds speech recognition ie can control the the sat nav by just speaking

Pretty cool

But

The steering and suspension is really soft and wobbly

I guess in standard form its pretty poor

But add on the very expensive options like ads etc you get a very good car
