if it was fitted by them and the part was original, then it is under the 24 months parts warranty and they should replace it!

That's not true. If the part was fitted/ repaired under warranty then, it is covered until when the warranty runs out ( not the 24 months).
Too much power is barely enough.

Took mine to my local Aylesbury Audi. They cleaned and regreased the front bearings under warranty, rather than replacing them. Seems to have done the trick.

Mine have been clicking for over a year now.It is getting worse though. What sort of prices are people quoted I've been given £300 ish for packing with grease. £600 for new ones.
It seems from this thread neither is the perfect option as they always start clicking again

Just get a local garage to clean and regrease the bearings. Shouldn't take more than an hour per side, so about £100 in all.

Or do it yourself, it's not hard. :)

Hi Guys,

Got a 2008 with 113k on the clock, just got this clicking quite excessively when driving around town, my mechanic mate is having a look this afternoon at repacking with grease, will try and take some pics and report back on the verdict.

Cheers,
Rich

turns out it was the brake discs, new discs and pads fixed it all, all sourced from eurocarparts for a lot less than stealers as they do all Pagid products!

I've just had mine done, what started as a very minor clicking on full lock sometimes, to a more consistent on near full lock at slow speeds.

I though for the cost of pair of new bearings, it was worth just changing them. All noise completely gone after the change.

Mine is a very late 2008, 56k car.

Already had to change the oil sensor twice!

I potentially have this issue on my Sept 2009 58k miles saloon, can hear a clicking when I'm turning the wheel in underground car parks so the noise is pretty distinctive. Will monitor for a while and see how it goes as its not too bad at the moment, car is under Audi extended warranty so hopefully should be a straight replacement under warranty.

Well a bit of an update on my situation, the clicking only temporarily went away after the new discs and pads were fitted but its back now. Although we have ruled out that it is not the wheel bearing as we have replaced that with an OEM part. So far we have changed 50% of the control arms, discs & pads, wheel bearing and caliper spring/pin kit.

If you take the wheel off, the extension of the suspension seems to suppress the clicking for a bit but it comes back. We thought it might be the caliper as you can hear the clicking quite easily under braking but you can also hear a faint clicking when just pottering about.

Car is in on Wednesday for investigation so will update when we know more and a potential fix, the car has done 120k miles now, already had to replace the whole oil/water pump before xmas so I guess this is just more wear and tear so hopefully will find it, get it nailed so anyone else experiencing the same problems going forwards can fix it quicker than the past 8 months of digging about.

Cheers,
Rich
