Yep get that, but it was only just in that area and I only put a small amount in to make sure it was in that area properly. Difficult to exactly describe the levels but rest assured I wasn't over filling it and was being very cautious. Since the oil light came on I've only put just under half a litre in so that's not a lot to bring it above a warning light level.
Don't worry, won't be putting any more in

Re: Oil level
Reading the manual it actually says never fill above the do not fill, or leave it below the fill. As I understand it this means that as long as its between the fill/do not fill its OK.
Reading the level is a bit tricky (new owner) so I learn as I go.
On my first service we drained the oil from multiple locations so filling with 6.5lit as per manual was nowhere near the proper mark. We ended up using 6.9l and after a casual drive of 2.5hours I got the check oil level light and had to add another 500ml.
I suspect after an oil change, the oil cooler needs to fill as well as the oil filter so its to be expected for the oil to get lower to an extent
