RS6 - Points to look for?

Hi,
Half thinking of coming back to the Audi fold.
Seen a really nice avant in Monza silver. 58 plate with cream leather.
Anyone give me advice on what to look for? In particular, are the ceramic brakes all that? Does this model have issues with DRC (the reason the RS4 got sold).
Cheers
Ali

Ceramics if you're tracking, steel if you're not. Any issue with the ceramics will have you bending over unless it is warranty.
DRC isn't an issue, I'm only aware of Grizz's first, brand new car having an issue. As yet, it appears not to be an issue.
I'd want a warranty with any RS6 though, still a bit of an unknown, though horror stories seem to be minimal to date.

Hi Ali.
Front discs seem to give up between 20 and 50k depending on how they are driven.
50k sevice is expensive, as its a plug change, which is a time consuming operation.
Dont expect fuel consumption to be anywhere near your old RS4.
Some had headlight issues early on, but replaced under warranty.
and as doodlbug said WARRANTY is a must (a good one)
But they do put a smile on your face every time you drive them.

They do seem pretty reliable .. I think the others nailed the points and they are all "work orders" aka recalls on them so should be a non issue now (Ceramics had a cracking problem fixed by changing the bolts, headlights leaking in early days causing DRL to fail, a MMI SW UG to stop a blanking screen non of us ever saw) Expect 14 to 18 mpg depending on how you drive it. And a big grin on your face every time you push the right peddle

That reminds me, just had a service and there was a recall on the front (steel) brakes. Just bits and bobs, although the list was quite long. Worth checking.

Sold fortunately
GT-R has to go. Absolute cracking car.
Come to the conclusion that 6mth servicing regardless of mileage (did 5k last year - only home 6mths of the year) isn't very clever along with the other costs.
Oh aye, and it's a cop magnet

It transpires that it was a recall on the front pistons.
