Any RS6 (C6) Avant owners in Herts?

Hello All and Happy Christmas

I'm a long time lurker who wil be in a position to buy a RS6 Avant in the new year. My budget will be about £35k-37k and Im hoping to get a decent 08 car for that money. I have lusted after one of these cars since I first saw one in the flesh and understanding whats underneath the bonnet. However Ive never been in one and so have no idea how they sound, how truly accelerative and comfortable they are etc. There are a couple of cars about 30 miles from me which are for sale, but I know Im not ready to buy quite yet so dont want to waste dealers time. Are there are any RS6 Avant owners in Herts who would be willing to show me around their pride and joy and show off the performance. I hope this does not sound dodgy- the lazy car-jacker looking for his next job :D

I live in Rickmansworth and currently own a older A4 Avant (3.0 V6-which has none of the shove of my last car-E39 M5 but manages only 250-300 miles to a tank.) I also own a Ducati 1098R Bayliss Ltd Edition which is incredible. However its not so good for transporting the wife, 2 kids etc to France and a RS6 would be the perfect foil to it.

it would also be great to meet another forum bod.

Thanks guys

Hi there

I bought a 08 plate for a low 30k although it has a highish mileage

Only had it a few momths, so cant comment too much, first thing you will prob notice is a bit firsty, but then you dont buy a
5ltr twin turbo and spend 30k+ for a good fuel car  does around 18mpg all round

As mentioned in other posts from cold bit smokey (white steam like) read its to prevent cat damage

Engine bit rattly mind you it does have 40 valves and lash adjusters

Very comfortable and excellent drive, just point and floor it

Cheers Adam

Thanks Adam. Luckily we only do about 5k miles a year so the petrol cost wont hurt too much.

Does anyone's wife drive the RS6? My wife is not the best (sorry dear!) driver in the world but apart from the increased size over the A4, I would hope the auto would make it an easier car to drive. Any thoughts?

Whatever happens, I suspect I will be visiting Lepsons every year though for a full alloy refurb!

Hi Adam,

Wife drives mine and no worries, auto box makes all very simple. In fact she has complemented the ride compared to rather crashy Golf R.

They are a tad thirsty but no suprise with 5 litre, twin turbo, lambo derived lump. We do limited miles like you and insured with Admiral multicar - got a really good price with max 9k miles a year.

Avant nicely accommodated Christmas tree purchase too.

Don't delay, a proper wolf in sheep's clothing. You need an RS6 in your life.

Cheers,
Matt K

My wife drives mine, and its the first performance car she hasn't complained about too much power, aggressive acceleration etc. etc.

Wife loves mine .. although she's always driven performance cars

Thanks very much for the offer- it seems as if there isn't any Herts owners but then I suspect the RS6 is a rare car (ive only ever seen one). That would be great to pop over one weekend. I really like Sepang blue so I suspect an hour with you and your car could be the final push I need to go out and buy one :D

Shall I pm you?

Matt

Sometimes I am allowed to drive my wife's C6. Must be the only purple RS6 doing a school run daily?
