I have joined the C6 club. Now have an Avus silver 2004 C5RS6 saloon- 530bhp and 12.5 sec 1/4 mile and phantom black 2009 C6 RS 6 saloon-572 bhp and ? sec 1/4 mile, parked next to each other in the garage.
My first driving impressions are that C6 is not as agile as the C5, is a lot quiter than the C5, even when driven in a "spirited manner" but has huge power surge plus potential with straight ecu remap to go to 700bhp+. A much tighter and 'newer ' vehicle than the C5 as one would expect.
The variable damping ride control is a hit with the better half after the pss9's of the C5 even when set at 4 on front and 5 on rear.
A couple of questions for fellow C6 owners from my initial driving experience with the C6 compared to the C5.
1.on rapid acceleration, the C6 seems to 'lurch' momentarily with upward gearchanges, pretty much like a harsh manual gearbox- clutch gear change.
Is this a 'normal' characteristic for the C6? The C5 has a seamless continual acceration all the way through the gears.
I have no problem with the blipping of the throttle on down changes. Is this 'pseudo double declutching' necessary with the C6 orjust a 'cosmetic' effect?
2. did the C6 ever come with a solar sunroof to power internal fans when parked in the sun , similar to the C5 warm weather package?
3. how do you stop the black streaks on the road under accelaration! This beast will eat tyres, from what i can see so far.
In closing the C6 is a very powerful machine which standard could get one into a little trouble with injudicous use of the right foot.

I cannot even imagine what 700 bhp remap feels like

Any fellow owners comments appreciated, as C6 owners are a very small group in australia.
