Well it looks like the drc on the c6 is just as <beep> as the c5 ......

Mine has lasted 4 days ...... Now the o/s/r shock has gone .......

So I've just checked and they don't have any in the uk or in germany...

To be fair this is the first and only report of a failure I've seen on a C6 RS6.

OK, there's one previous example here, my bad.

Still, the oldest cars are well over two years old now an some will have covered a good number of miles. Not sure where we are on the timeline that the C5 followed. I'm hoping that there's no repeat.

What is DRC ? And does the MMI report a fault or is it symptom based ??

Dynamic Ride Control. It's the three suspension settings you find under 'Car' on the MMI. Not sure whether a fault is reported.

It uses oil filled shocks which on the C5 RS6 and the B7 RS4 liked to leak. In the case of the C5 RS6, a lot. To the extent that most owners binned them and replaced them with coilovers. The C5 RS6 section is full of the details.

Last night was in Newbury on business.. set route to Home via Sat Nav said go M4 and 38 mins .. Decided to go A and B road, Sat Nav puked at 60 mins (eventually after it got off U turn requests).. I did it in about 40mins .. and I know my DRC is still OK again .. was raining cats and dogs, Quattro was perfect, SSP (sports suspension plus) was perfect.. car sat at home and "ticked" as it cooled down Grizz had a failure .. I know it sucks, dont slap all C6 RS6s as "going to die"

my only issue with the system is it's a very sound idea and no standard set up could match the ability of the DRC but it just seems to me there not realy testing the next genaration of DRC fully and the failures back this up i don't know if its the british roads thet seem to destroy the system as i have read plenty of failures in other countrys. i can't remember who makes it for audi but qute a big name in the shock world H&R or Blistine i think so there not garden shed manufactures i think this will always be the achilles heel of the RS in what ever form it takes still won't stop me buy the next RS4 when it comes along but if mine fails out of the warranty i will be cahnging it for PS9 set up just my 2p

Think they're made by Showa for Audi.

The second generation set they fitted to the B7 RS4 appeared to fixed the fault on the factory fitted units...as long as they were replaced properly. Mine never had any faults after that.
