Buckled Alloys

Post by Akira » Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:10 pm

Took mine in to get the wheels balanced due to excessive shaking at 80mph.
Noticed the slight bobble whilst they were lining the wheel up on the machine.

There is no damage to my wheels at all and they've been confirmed as having a slight buckle. Only saving grace is that I mentioned to the stealer when I picked it up that the wheels looked as though they had had a patch up job done on them.

Anyone else had any issues with this?

On another note, anyone done a nitrogen fill in their tyres? wondering if it'll screw up the monitoring

Audi wheels are prone to an occasional buckle, have the same on my RS4 and have had on my S4 and S3 but having them balanced usually compensates.

Nitrogen Fill will not compromise TPMS however given air is 79% Nitrogen anyway and you refill with air when they eventually do lose pressue I've personally not seen any significant benefit. That said if it is FOC there's no harm.
