speed camera DETECTORS

Post by FlyRS6 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:34 pm

I have recently gone from a c5 to the c6 RS6
I had an ORIGIN B2 speed camera detector in the c5 and it was hardwired and placed behind the A Pillar. It was absolutely flawless and non irritating with no false readings just di its job. Im wondering what others have as I'll need one in my c6. The predecessor to the origin b2 is the pogo alert but whilst small in height and width it is a cube shape overall and i think would be to cumbersome. I want a hardwire to sit on the dash behind the a pillar again so can anyone recommend something similar. It doesnt need to hav satnav just a pure detector.

I have the road angel proffesional connected, its very good I think, you can add cameras as you see them and it updates every three minutes. I bought a little laser cam add on for hand held lasers, I think it's great...

Can you explain the point of the laser detector? My understanding (and I could be wrong!! ) is that if it alerts you to a laser it is already too late??

Sure......It alerts you to a laser but its not too late, that sthe point, police need to check speed over a certain distance.. You hear the alarm you jam on the anchors and you should be clear.....fingers crossed!

I use Talex .. Prefer the spoken voice to beeps and flashes, They seem fairly accurate and updates seem timely after new cameras appear. Not many false positives as well Saved my license a few times.

Also have played with one of those 45 quid Inforad (USB thumb dive size) .. Uses the PocketGPS community database which is also fairly accurate. Its worth the 45 quid from Halfords.

a few questions re the Inforad, can it be updated via a Mac or is it PC only? also does anyone know if it is a pan EU device, as much as the French cops dislike such "unfair" devices

Cant answer the MAC Question

Yes its an Pan EU device .. has databases for pretty much all EU countries .. You pick which ones you load from the desktop program (Its originally a French Company)
