Hero to Zero....My RS6 Breakdown!

My RS6 went into total meltdown yesterday in the middle of a very busy merseyside junction after a faultless 120 mile journey from north yorkshire....
:( :x
Meltdown started with a snatched gearchange and loss of drive then dashboard lit up like a council house at christmas!Audi assistance took nearly 2 hours to get an RAC man out and he found a code fault that RAC tech support had no match for!!!Recovered after 6 hours back to Harrogate Audi.
Anyone had same problem???
Oh and to cap off my experience...Audi assistance put me in a loan car...a Merc!!! :x

Hey CP, mine did the same, only fortunately it happened outside my house. All the lights went ballistic and it just died.

Hey, keep us posted. I'd really like to know how long they take to fix it.

Good luck!

UPDATE!!!

:?Bad news... Have been informed by Harrogate Audi that my RS6 requires a new ECU that has to come from Germany and is specced and built for each car... will be at least 2 weeks on order!
Good news...Merc has gone and replaced with a TTRS Roadster...bit gay looking but cracking engine.
So RS6 has now been off the road for 10 days and counting!!!

It shouldn't be so bad trying a TTRS ;)

 Especially one that you don't own, somehow you find that the limits are so much higher...

.

I had two ECUs replaced, they took about five days to arrive at the dealers, The work took a total of two weeks but was delayed because of an admin error on part of couriers.

Hey Alpha did they give you an explanation into why both ECUs failed...they now tell me that i need both replacing!!!
Meanwhile the TTRS is proving to be a little cracker and i'm loving the sport button(Reminds me of those heady RS4 days) and had the top down yesterday on the way to Silverstone.
Spotted 3 RS6 Avants Yesterday....Filthy Mugello at the circuit and 1 Ibis white and 1 Sepang both going south on the M1.

Hi CP,

Good news and bad news.

Good news first.....they did tell me what it was.

Bad news...... It was so technical, I'm a luddite and can't remember!

I can find out if you wish?

James
