I think my car isn't limited after all!

Hi guys,
While 'abroad' last night on a 'private test track' I thought I'd stretch it's legs. I fully expected it to hit the restrictor at 155. Couldn't believe it when it sailed straight past and on to 170. I chickend out after that as other cars on the 'race track' were rapidly being caught ;)
I bought it as an ex-demo and there was no mention of it being deristricted. Is there any visual way to tell it has been derestricted other than the obvious speedo reading? My road angel confirmed the speedo wasn't faulty?

Check to see it the engine bay is carbon fibre. If so it means it has the higher limiter raising the top speed to 174mph.

Next time keep your foot to the floor, pushing past 185mph is a right buzz

Seem to remember when Evo tested one it went past the 155 comfortably.

As mc says the factory derestricted cars have carbon for the RS6 plaque in the engine bay.

mine doesn't have the de-limit option, however it happily sails past an indicated 175 without hiccup before i have had to lift (on the autobahn of course)

I haven't had a chance to get the bonnet up but I don't recall seeing any carbon fibre when I've been topping up the oil and washer bottle.
Looks like the guy who fitted the drl's maybe fitted the speed limiters as well. Both faulty!
I'd be gutted if I'd paid the £1350 deristrict option just to get a bit of carbon fibre trim that you see once in a blue moon.

MIne is derestricted as sold but they alledgedly had shortage of carbon trim so has not got this under bonnet, but defintely gets up to around 180
