Thinking about a C6 saloon from an RS4. Your views?

Hi C6 owners!

I currently have an RS4 saloon (B7) and I am considering going for an RS6 saloon as a replacement. Most of my driving is either motorway with the family or the odd short trip around town. The current car is perfect bar the seats giving my leg jip after a couple of hours (and be stupidly difficult to get into without backing into the motor) and the manual gearbox. The RS6 seems ideal as is basically a larger more powerful RS4 with more comfortable seats and an auto box.

My question is, what is it like to live with? I would especially appreciate your comments if any of you had B7's and went to RS6's.

Hi,

I had a RS4 B7 saloon previously and whilst I loved it to drive I was always slightly disappointed in the boot access. Whilst it had a good sized boot you couldnt actually fit anything decent in. The seats were also not great for getting in and out of, something that my wife mainly whinged about.

I have now had a RS6 C6 Avant for 10 months and I love the car, brutally quick and very spacious. The seats are very comfortable and the automatic gear box makes driving on the motorway and around town easy. I mainly do long motorway drives or short trips locally, cruising on the motorway its the best car I have owned. The RS4 was more fun to drive on a twisty country road though.

Downside of the RS6? It's big (in my opinion)... about a foot longer than the RS4 and wider, so parking can be interesting (already had a £1,500 scratch down the side from my wife's parking exploits). But as I wanted more space I can live with it, just have to spend more time finding a suitable parking spot.

Whilst I love the RS6 I cant help but think that if I'd originally bought an RS4 Avant I'd still be driving that...
