FAO Condor24 (or anyone with Milltek exhaust)

I notice you have had a Milltek exhaust fitted and I just wonder what you think of it, is there a noticeable change in tone? Would you recommend it for the price? Do you know if you can have it fitted with twin oval tips instead of the quads? Are there any other systems on the market?
Sorry for all the questions but having had Milltek systems fitted on a previous M3 and a 997 I’m seriously considering one, but I’m really not keen on the quad pipes, it’s the main thing holding me back. I've inquired about it with Milltek but just awaiting their reply.
Cheers in advance

I've got twin oval exhausts ... will post a picture tomorrow as the car is rather dirty.
The sound is great but I'd have the Stage 1 remap first; the exhaust tone is certainly worth having for the change in sound, but I'd have the performance first & then the aural upgrade.

Cheers for your reply! I'd love to see a pic. Remap is to come for sure, but being a new owner i want to get used to the stock performance first so i appreciate the upgrade. Give me a couple of months and i'll no doubt be in the mtm club.
Just had a helpfull response from AMD essex...
Hi Leighton
Thank you for your enquiry.
Milltek are producing an RS6 system which has the oval tailpipe as an option. This means it is slightly noisier than the twin tailpipe option. This will be available from next week.
The Milltek system is £1417.02inc vat and we are currently offering free fitting on Milltek products. The oval tailpipe option may be slightly more expensive once released?
We also offer remapping for the RS6 which is giving big bhp gains and much more mid-range punch and improved throttle response.

Hi Leighton
I have just confirmed that, contrary to my previous conversation with Milltek, this is available now and is the same price as the twin tailpipe option.
If you would like to order the system give me a call.

I have a non-res on my S6, with the quad round tail pipe design.
It is plenty loud enough.
I am sure I can better the price you have been quoted above.
Please call for details...

Had mine fitted about a month ago now, with black oval tips which looks great with the grey paint and privacy glass... and obviously sounds great!

I haven't done 500 miles yet in my white RS, it came with black oval tips which I like. I am wondering about the Milteks, realising if I bite the bullet, it could lead to an inevitable remap. I haven't spanked it yet, despite the sales chap saying its ok to forgo the running in period as spec'd in the owner's manual, I am taking it gently for a bit. First impressions are - it sounds good but a bit muted.
L8ON - Would be interested to hear your views having just fitted the Miltek. I am sure it sounds fantastic, is it an acceptable volume level for every day use?
I used to ride big bikes and even though I loved the sound and the safety of race pipes, when I red lined, the resultant noise could be heard by every policeman in a two-three mile radius.
