MTM Stage 1 remap and Milltek exhaust

Post by Condor24 » Mon Jun 08, 2009 2:34 pm

The V10 has now been fitted with an MTM Stage 1 remap & Milltek exhaust. The motor is just awesome & does not know the word 'uphill'.

I've been to Bordeaux and San Sebastien (Spain) & the car is a delight to drive.

Yesterday, I was cruising effortlessly at over 180 kmh on the A89. I spotted out the corner of my right eye, (although rather too late) the police car & camera setup. I slowed down to 140 & held my nerve. Nothing ... phew.

Then I realised as I approached the 'peage' (toll) that the Gendarme car sitting by the toll booths would probably stop me, but 'RS6 luck' was on my side.

So what sort of figures does that supposedly give you now? Must be over 700bhp plus 600+ ft/lbs?

The rolling road figures on the day showed power of 700 bhp
I'm not sure what torque figure was achieved & the graphs are back home in the UK.

So which is better to drive now, the C5 or the C6?

So which is better to drive now, the C5 or the C6?
The C5 still delivers a superb drive .. sure footed, powerful, comfortable, effortless & quick. A little more raw, perhaps a gearbox more suitable for town driving, more rattles (but its a 6 year old car)

And the C6 is altogether more 'grown up'. It is a quieter, smoother ride, quicker than the standard C5, every quality of the C5 but more ! The D mode of gearbox can feel that its in the wrong gear ie changed up too early.

I am beginning to think I'll leave the C6 in France and the C5 in London.

And by having the fortunate benefit of both cars, I can alternate & appreciate the qualities of both !

I've posted on a different thread but as this is the more appropriate....

Am interested (very) in a remap but I'm worried about the warranty implications....as in I assume it would invalidate it if the remap was found.?

Nice one, Jeremy. Have you had any interesting 'moments' in it?
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)

Its a joy to drive ... the thought of driving the C6 brings an immediate warm glow & smile. A real uplifter when one feels a little 'down'. I can only describe the car as a wonderful piece of engineering.

It 'reaches the parts other cars can not reach".
