Ceramic brake upgrade

Post by Bushy » Mon Jun 01, 2009 11:40 am

So has anyone looked at retro fitting these, if so how much?

Can we just buy new discs, calipres and pads and get them fitted?

All I know is when I asked the stealer that very same question he told me what is a £6k option from new somehow equates to £3k per corner for replacements if required!!

I think that when he said per corner he meant each wheel.

Retrofit is just so expensive..the £6K I thought was too expensive when ordering the beast! but after getting the 'normal' discs and pads..I now think I should have choosen the upgrade...

But can get them for £4K each and that is good compare to how difficult I found it to be to find some for the C6....

You could try the Movit 396mm full Ceramic kit as a retro-fit. Did this with my C5 RS6 and they are utterly unbelieveable. Still pricey, but likely to get change out of £8+k. Much much much lighter than std and very much more tolerent of high temps.

I'm taking my car into Stoke Audi on Thursday, for them to reset the inspection service reminder that they forgot to do.

They've just told me there is a recall on the ceramic brakes.

Have asked them to get details for me.

It regularly gets 26mpg.

Which is a lot better than the 18mpg that my RS6 gets.
