Have had the car a couple of weeks now and no, not bored with the power I absolutely love it but can't help casting an eye towards a remap and Milltek upgrade...
Spoke to AmD this morn (local) whom did a grand job on my 3.0TDI and they quoted me a 80bhp+90ft/lb increase on a few they've sorted.
Views/experiences please guys??
Many thanks!

I think its very difficult to select which company is best for a remap.
I am very non technical, so I don't know the full details of how remapping is done.
Some postings here are biased by either staff of tuning houses, their friends or genuine customers.
I am NOT knocking any of the companies that remap, but it is fair to say that MTM is a leading firm. It was established some 15 to 20 years ago by an ex Audi technician. There is nothing they do not know about Audi.
I am considering who to use myself for my C6.
Happy shopping and great driving.

Have to agree with you Condor24, however, someone like MRC has established itself in this sector and it's good to see local companies getting involved with owners on forums such as this. I've never seen someone from MTM contribute to a forum. I'd rather deal with a company who also shared the same passion as myself in the car. Companies like MTM on this apsect seem slightly detached in this respect.
I've not had my car mapped yet however, a quick visit to MRC and seeing Doug in action is enough to inspire anyone to pull out the wallet. He really does know his stuff on either RS4s or RS6s.
All the best in your search its exciting times when we doing somehting new to the car.

I'm very happy with what Superchips have done, 649bhp, plus a significant increase in torque (can't remember the figure, but it's on thier website) and at a bargain price.
Amazing change to the car

jonp, have you ever enquired about the long term effects on the engine after having a remap?

Yep - you will see more component wear, it's inevitable, but like all things mechanical, it's how you treat it. If you're an animal, cars last less time. I think the real area of concern might be the gearbox - she's taking a lot of torque, but it does have a torque limiter, so will refuse to change up until the power is reduced.

Our remap does not affect gearchanges, because we know how to rescale all the variables and parameters in order for both the ECU and gearbox management to be happy with each other

I thought a stage1 on the C6 was upto around 700bhp.
Is that still possible (but not recommended)?

I'm sure a Stage 1 remap allows for 700 bhp .. I'll let you know once its done & the car's been checked on the rolling road.

I see MTM limit torque to 581ft/lb on both there remaps (702 & 730 HP) for "additional performance within the reliable limits of the equipment"
AmD have quoted me circa 650HP & 570 ft/lb for £699 and no upshift issues - am seriously considering this but gonna find out what this Audi recall "product enhancement" is all about first.
Don't want Audi to flash update my ECU and flush out my remap!!
