Slight braking wobble

Post by RS6IBIS » Thu Apr 23, 2009 3:35 pm

I have had the RS6 for about two months now and have noticed a slight shudder when gently braking from about 60 mph. Just turned 5k miles and car booked into Audi next Monday.

Any similair experiences?

Yep - as with all Audi's the brakes are rubbish. IMHO they should have Ceramics as standard. On my weekly welsh mountain road forays, I cook the brakes very easily - Haul down from 100+ five times in reasonably quick succession, and it's almost impossible to hang onto the steering wheel!

Mines in for it's first service on Wednesday, so I will get them to take a look, but I know I will get the usual response - they look a bit blue - therefore no warranty.

I did check on a Ceramic upgrade for my R8, but they quoted £13K and wouldn't warrant them, despite being genuine audi parts.

Replaced front discs under warranty and covered pads as "goodwill." Agreed discs were warped and as no signs of scorching Audi happy to cover it.

That's interesting - I will see what reaction I get on Wednesday

Cheers
