Brand new RS6?

Post by craigyb » Thu Mar 26, 2009 2:20 pm

Well chatting with my local dealer today and he's offering a cracking deal on a new RS6 registered March 09

Basically he's giving me what I paid for my car 4 months ago and 14K off the list price. I specced up the car from Audi and it comes to £81K with it's options.

The dealer wants 15k and my car, so basically that is £66k difference, I paid 52K for mine in December so there is £14k off the price, now other dealers have offered me £43K for my car, so it seems like a good deal.

Any thoughts?

It's a good deal but not a great deal.

I paid ex-demo price for a brand new, unregistered car (also around 80k list with options) back in Jan. I'd say he's still making a few quid on the deal.

I knew there were some goods deals around, but I didn't expect so good, brand new at ex demo prices?

Indeed!

I was looking at the ex-demo car at the dealer in question, whilst I was umming and arring they sold it. However, the dealer came back to us offering a new car for the same price. Bit of a no-brainer really.

Thats what I'm thinking, and as my car on CAP is £38K, it looks even better

Out of interest is the car you're being offered MY08 or MY09, I managed to grab an 09, which made the deal even better.

Too late, the dealer was stalling me on getting the chassis and then told me the car was sold.

So what is a good price for an ex-Demo/new car at the moment? Just test drove one for last couple of days and more tempted than I wanted to be...

Bought mine last week (Sepang Blue saloon) unregistered example, with all the toys I could wish for. Got (what I think is anyway) a very, very good deal. Dealer wanted to do a deal before 31 March. A refreshing change from when I bought my RS4 in 2006.

BTW what was the build week when they went from MY08 to MY09? The month and year of manufacture on mine is 12/08. What were the changes?

Not sure on the dates, my RS6 is a 2009 model, picked up early Feb. So before then....

If you have MMI 3G then you have a 2009 model. AFAIK that is the biggest change.

I'd expect to pay less than that though, I paid less than that for an unregistered example back in Jan.

It seems all saloons are MMi 3G and all the currently available Avants are MMI 2G

Wasn't that part of the facelift upgrade on ICE, all cars are now MMI 3G. Haven't seen a facelifted Avant as yet as IIRC they are using up the remaining C6 avant chassis and body parts before doing customer orders with the facelift version.

I saw a facelifted A6 avant without MMI 3G on Saturday. I was doing TV in mtion and I was filled with dread as I approached the car and saw the square fog lamps, then found out it was 2G.
