According to the TG website, this forthcoming Sunday's programme has Richard Hammond in an RS6 versus a couple of skiers.

I was disappointed. Why the skiers??? I wanted more on the car and I wanted a lap from the Stigster.

and I wanted a lap from the Stigster
and a Stig lap in the CLK too.

Plus there was no comparison between the E63 AMG & M5 Touring (other than token references).

yep, but then I love the SL55 AMG (old shape) too. That CLK was £100k, but looks like it should for that kind of money. I'd have one.

I'd have one too. Saw a nice looking Merc a few weeks ago.

Can't remember what it was, it was a long car with 6.2 on the side. I think it was a V8 or V10 AMG with big brakes.

Having looked around on Pistonheads, I think it was a C63 AMG or CL65 AMG; whatever it was, I'd have swapped with the fella.

If a saloon then more likely the SL63 (drove one at Milbrook & it's an awesome machine). The CL is the monster Coupe & the C63 the new baby. As an aside i saw one of the C63 AMG's on the M6 yesterday & it was only the noise that caught my attention as it looked no different from the front or side than a C220 Diesel.

I didn't like the comment that previously if you wanted a hot estate car you had to buy a beemer or a Merc almost as if RS Avants never existed before the new RS6.

I agree, they could / should have run a direct comparison with the other cars and Hamster should have located that bar first as the skiers obviously knew where they were going.

I just think it was a bit of a lame thumbs up for the car, half hearted.

Yep, and the new SL63 AMG looks naff compared to the prefacelift SL55 AMG. What a shame, it used to have so much class.

Yeah, agreed! Audi started the whole fast estate thing as far as I'm concerned, with the 200 Avant Turbo Quattro with 182bhp way back in 1986 I think. With the 100 S4 Avant / S2 Avant after that, recognised as real fast cars and then of course in 1994 with the RS2. No other car manufacturer as far as I can remember, ever had an estate car as their flagship performance model before Audi.

I wish people would get their facts straight!
