Nearly ready to order...

Post by kent_phil » Sat Jun 21, 2008 5:19 pm

Test drove the Bedford Audi car today (like a few others on here from the looks of it) and am very close to ordering.

Car handled superbly, way better than previous hot Audi's I've tested - and acceleration was more than enough for rapid overtakes. Gear box seemed a bit overkeen to drop down on acceleration

Went down to Le Mans with a year old RS4 and that was a seriously impressive bit of kit, kept up with my 997 turbo across french a roads no problems.

Finance rate quoted was a joke - although it did indicate a 50% guaranteed value at the end of 3 years which I'm not over the moon with but does provide a downside protection given the uncertain outlook for large engined cars at the moment.

Does anyone have any info about the discounts mentioned on here and number of cancellations? Proposed delivery times came down from April when I first enquired two weeks ago to November, possibly earlier, if I ordered today...plus an 'ex-dem' I phoned up after rapidly had its price dropped when it became clear I was a serious buyer.

Cheers,

Phil

I assume you drove the black one..not just me that thought it handled very tidily then.

Car seemed enormous to start then shrank around you, very impressed with the turn in -and the best weighted steering so far (RS4/R8 excepted)

TradeRS - I'll give you a call closer to the time of delivery, with the markets the way they are a couple of months could make a big difference

JBW - Certainly was the black one, it did not feel like a 2 tonne car on the twisties at all - I took it out towards Millbrook proving ground (not on the proving ground unfortunately...) and it really flew around the corners with confidence

Convinced I'm going to buy one now, more about the timing...

Not sure I can wait for the Nov / Dec delivery plus the finance quotes from Audi only have a 3 month self life so useless as an underwrite...

Looking at the ex-dems, 5 on the Audi site alone. Been talking to the Stoke dealer today, planning to visit over the weekend so fingers crossed its as good as it sounds...
