New 580bhp RS6 vs 2003 450 RS6

I've got an RS6 Avant which I've had from new; its been chipped to 500bhp and had MTM brake upgrade. Its a fabulous car to drive although the suspension is not great.

The DRC valves have been replaced twice.

I've driven the 580bhp RS6. Its suspension felt much improved. The power was impressive but a little sterile / less involving than my current RS6.

I find it hard to justify the £50k upgrade price.

Any feedback on changing my 2003 RS6 suspension to Bilsteins or similar would be appreciated.

I have KW Variant 3 Coilovers and Hotchkis Anti Roll Bars, it's a brilliant combination.

I know you said that power was "impressive but sterile and less involving" put what I simply want to know is this...

In a straight line, from 0-10 or 30-130, what do you think would be the quickest? A new 580bhp RS6 (standard) or an old 500bhp RS6 (modified)???

Thanks.

David.

New RS6 = 650Nm torque
My modified RS6 = 780Nm torque

New RS6 Modified..... mmmmmmm ??

The new 6 does have a higher top speed, but it's anyone's guess who'd win the 1/4 mile drag race. I did read the following quote re the new RS6:
That means 60 comes up in 4.6 seconds, the quarter mile is dispatched in 14.9 seconds (at 124 mph)
but it doesn't make sense to me. The old RS6 (modified) will do around the 12.5 second mark.

To me, it just doesn't seem worth the extra £50k although I will be test driving one this weekend; shame I can't throw it round a track and see how it compares to mine. 8)
