Friend of mine has been told that the new RS6 has 'unofficially' got 580 BHP.

It came from a very good source !!!!

Sounds interesting - does the good source have any more details...?

I think you might find that the 580 bhp figure is official, lots of discussion on rs6.com since mid 2006......

It was just a text i got from him. He'd been at Millbrook Testing Ground for an Audi R8 day for those with orders. One of the head engineers was there and told him.

Im seeing him tmrw for lunch so if he has anymore details i will post.

He was 'blow away' by the R8, coming from a guy who's had Vanquish, Murci and at the moment a Gallardo Spyder, thats high praise.

Interesting that a senior engineer from Germany didn't seem to think it was official and old news. In fact he said quite the opposite. They are trying to keep a lid on things.

So maybe speculation has been around, but isn't a little confirmation nice?

"the other list" has a few good sources (close to gmbh).... this discussion was had over a month ago.

I don't wanna talk about, I just want to drive the thing.

I rekon Audi should give all RS6 owners 2 laps on the Nurburgring in the new RS6 to see if we like it. They may have a problem stopping us from driving off in it though!
